Is Physical Therapy Right for You? Here’s What to Expect at Somos Pilates Nashville

Understanding the Modern Approach to Physical Therapy

If you’ve ever wondered whether physical therapy could help you move better, manage pain, or recover from an injury — the answer is almost always yes.

At Somos Pilates Nashville, we’ve reimagined what physical therapy looks and feels like. Led by Dr. Christina Reburn, DPT, our in-studio physical therapy program blends evidence-based rehabilitation with Pilates-based movement training.

The result? A modern, holistic approach to recovery that strengthens your body while addressing the root cause of pain.

Whether you live near East Nashville or The Nations, our physical therapy programs are designed for people who want a smarter, more personalized path to healing.

Why Physical Therapy Is More Than Injury Recovery

Most people think of physical therapy only after surgery or injury. But at Somos, we believe PT is also a preventative tool — a way to optimize how your body moves so you can stay strong, mobile, and injury-free long-term.

Physical therapy can help you:

  • Recover from injuries, surgery, or chronic pain.

  • Improve balance, coordination, and posture.

  • Prevent future injuries through strength and mobility training.

  • Manage or reduce joint, neck, or back pain.

  • Improve athletic performance and recovery time.

Think of physical therapy as your bridge between rehab, fitness, and longevity — where you learn how to move better for life.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Physical Therapy?

Our physical therapy programs are ideal for:

  • Active individuals recovering from sports injuries or overuse pain.

  • Athletes and dancers who want to enhance performance and prevent injury.

  • Clients recovering from surgery or preparing for one.

  • Individuals managing chronic pain such as arthritis, sciatica, or low back pain.

  • People with balance or neurological challenges (stroke, Parkinson’s, etc.).

  • Anyone who feels limited by stiffness, pain, or movement restrictions.

If you’ve tried traditional physical therapy and felt rushed, unseen, or plateaued in progress — this approach is different. At Somos, every session is one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy in a calm, private studio environment.

Meet Dr. Christina Reburn, DPT, CPT

Dr. Christina Reburn is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and certified Pilates instructor who specializes in orthopedic and musculoskeletal care.

A graduate of Belmont University’s DPT program, Christina has extensive experience in both acute care and outpatient physical therapy. Her background as a competitive dancer and her own recovery from chronic illness give her a unique, empathetic approach to helping clients rebuild confidence through movement.

Her method integrates manual therapy, dry needling, corrective exercise, and Pilates-based rehabilitation to address not just symptoms, but the deeper causes of dysfunction.

What Services Are Offered

Every client begins with a Comprehensive Movement and Strength Assessment to identify imbalances and create a personalized plan.

From there, sessions may include:

  • Manual Therapy: Hands-on techniques to release tight muscles and improve joint mobility.

  • Dry Needling: Targeted pain relief for muscular trigger points and inflammation.

  • Corrective Exercise: Strengthening weak areas and retraining movement patterns.

  • Pilates-Based Physical Therapy: Using the reformer and other equipment for controlled, functional movement.

  • Holistic Coaching: Lifestyle and wellness guidance to support healing and long-term success.

This integrative model helps clients progress faster — combining the clinical precision of traditional PT with the control and awareness of Pilates.

Your First Visit: What to Expect

During your first visit, you’ll meet one-on-one with Dr. Reburn for an Initial Assessment. Together, you’ll discuss your medical history, goals, and daily movement habits. She’ll evaluate strength, flexibility, and alignment, then design a plan specific to your needs.

You’ll leave with clarity on what’s happening in your body, why it’s happening, and how we’ll address it — step by step.

Sessions are available at both:
📍 Somos Pilates East Nashville – 747 Douglas Ave Ste, 105A
📍 Somos Pilates The Nations – 4900 Centennial Blvd., Ste 103A
